Solar Eclipses
Total solar eclipses are one of the most beautiful phenomena we can ever hope to witness on Earth. I am an eclipse expert, and aim to share the awe of eclipses far and wide.
My new book, 'Little Book of Eclipses', published in 2026. The book serves as a comprehensive guide for the history, science and safe observation of solar (and lunar) eclipses.
I have written non-specialist articles on eclipses for Collins Astronomy and space.com, and academic outreach articles published in the Bulletin of the American Astronomical Society[1][2]. I have also been interviewed on the subject for National Geographic.
In April 2024, I shared the wonder of the solar eclipse via social media, with school children along the Texas-Mexico border, and through co-hosting the U.S. National Science Foundation's eclipse livestream from beneath the shadow of the Moon.
